In a Mineralogical database like Geolib we try to describe the minerals in a formal,
but still understandable - and SEARCHABLE - form. The contents of the database is structured into fields containing information about:

All common used characteristics is implemented for all known minerals !
BUT THIS IS NOT ENOUGH FOR THE COLLECTOR
He or she wants the minerals divided into their respecive groups and series and in Geolib it’s easy to do so.
By using the well known German system, introduced by Strunz, you can easily get SORTED LISTS
of all MINERAL CLASSES, with GROUPS, SERIES and MINERALS.
And you may sort dem after NAME or INDEX CODE….No book can give you this flexible variety of sorting.
